Of Course, It Had To Rain Today

This being our last day today home, I was dismayed, to say the least, when I discovered it was raining this morning. A look at the weather forecast gave some hope for clearing around noon time. However, as the day progressed, I had to realize that such improvements were not to happen. So we spent this rainy day running between the house and the RV to get things stowed away. Not a fun thing to do. But departure date was tomorrow, and I hate spending valuable hours on the home lot when I should be heading down the road.

After our washing machine had finished her job and we didn't need more water from the tap, I went into the basement and got our waterlines blown out. I use an air compressor for the job and it worked out really well. Then antifreeze was dropped into the P-traps and the washer. Job done!

At 10:30 we were heading to our pharmacy to get our Moderna booster shot. With that out of the way we already felt a lot better. Checking in at the mail office we had received a long expected package containing a rain coat for Dixie. Getting a dripping wet dog back in the RV after a walk isn't very desirable, so Bea had ordered the coat through Amazon. When we tried it on, Dixie didn't seem amused, but it covered her very well. It even has a hoodie! Hopefully she'll get used to the contraption.

       Not happy.....!!

At 3pm we drew a breath and went for coffee to our very friendly neighbour. We had a great time and it turned out to be a great Good Bye for the next 5 months.

When we stepped outside, the rain had stopped and the sun came out. But yikes, so cold it was now. The sky cleared more and more and tomorrow morning will be frosty at 0C (32F) or even lower. But never the less, the trailer will be our home tonight. The dropping temperature will sure make it easier to leave the island for the winter.

Now we are almost done and could relax. The trailer is warmed up, we have hot water and the furnace is running.

Bon Voyage to ourselves!

  1. Hoping for clear skies with lots of sun for the beginning of your journey. Poor Dixie. But she looks so cute.
