This will come as a big surprise to all of you.
This morning we spelled out what has been smoldering in our minds for the entire previous week.
Last night was a night from hell, there was no chance for sleep until way after midnight. The reason was the Dunk-dunk noise generated 3kms away in town. It was felt like an earthquake right under our rig. And I wouldn't even talk about if this was a one-time incident. Not just every weekend - but just imagining about what is going to happen during Christmas and NewYears makes me shudder.
And if this crazy noise wouldn't be enough there are these countless 4x4 monster machines turning this beautiful beach into a Highway of Terror. There seems to be no respect for nature and people's desire for peace
Everything else is actually fine, though Bea complains about the sand getting into the coach.
Our return to the States will have to wait until we get our water pump installed though.
We regret this very much, cause San Carlos has beautiful sides as well, but we hate booming loud music, especially Techno with its monotonous beat.
San Carlos is a party town for the most part. And it does come alive on weekends. Living right on the beach is a problem for you but not for everyone. You are in Mexico and they love their music. At least the RV parks are more regulated re ATV's zooming thru. The 'real' Mexico is lovely. Mexicans love their music. Here in Mazatlan, Banda is the theme. We all just grin and bear it. It does not go on forever. Perhaps you might want to look into Puerto Penasco. A large beach town but with RV parks directly on the water ( same as where I am ) and other than weekends, quieter. Are you aware that this is an important long weekend here in Mexico? Don't give up. There is so much culture and beauty there. I think that you are in the wrong place. We live in paradise directly on the ocean with full 50AMP service for only 11,000 MXN per month ( $840.00 CAD ). We travelled Mexico from 2001 and settled on Stone Island ( which is just across the shipping channel from Mazatlan ) in 2009 and this is our 3rd winter renting on a private piece of land ). We have driven the circle of Mexico and even drove down to Acapulco for four winters. You have to figure out why you are in Mexico and then find the location that works for you. We wanted to get away from the cold Canadian winters. Contessa
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment again. Yes, we were aware of the long weekend, but no, we have seen behavior here which doesn't belong to any country. 10 minutes ago, I was on the roof, a very young male idiot came racing towards us and passed with centimeters to spare along our side, a place. where Dixie normally is resting, but wasn't as she was now on the other side in the shade. This full-blown idiot would not have been able to avoid Dixie. WE ARE LEAVING!!! BTW. we have been at Totonaka RV Park for dumping. I can't believe anybody would pull into that trashy run-down place, what a dump. Puerto Penasco? No way we are going there, RVs parked like herring in a barrel.
DeleteI am sad that you are not giving the real Mexico a chance. It is so peaceful where we are. Why not come further south? You can meet up with another RV and travel down here.
DeleteGoing further south means getting a TIP for our vehicles. Don't want to do that. Also we are boondockers and will go into RV-parks only if no other options exist. Mexico has a total lack of infrastructure for RVers. Rv-Parks are small, sites are too short for our 65ft rig and most roads are full of potholes. If we'd have a van or small trailer only we would be a better fit for this country.
DeleteCome on back to the U.S. We love you Canadians and miss you, though we do understand why you're not here.
