Game Over – Rien Ne Va Plus

If you are currently camping in a U.S. National Park you have to get off the campgrounds within the next 2 days. If you are staying in an onsite hotel you are already looking for a new place to rest your head on a pillow. The reason is  that the U.S. Government has shut down operations due to lack of funds. The play of the House has resulted in a deadlock over the federal budget. Don’t plan on visiting any federal museums, monuments or even National Cemeteries. If your passport processing office is housed in a federal building your passport renewal could be delayed.

Millions of Americans are now paying the price for a political battle that has raged since 2009. The outcome of this is still in the blue.

I understand that the TSA and border guards will still be on duty as they represent essential National Security. I’m honestly glad to hear that.

And with that I’m going back to work. Yes, work! My neighbour has asked me whether I could produce two new garage doors for them. I have already removed one of the old overhead doors. They want old-fashioned swing doors. Yesterday we got a pile of materials delivered and I went over there with my tools. Pretty soon parts of the old overhead door were landing out front in a heap. Boy do they have many nuts and bolts!

I hope to snap off a few pics of the progress today, then post it later.

Have a sunny day!

  2. Sounds like a fun project. There's something to be said for "reproducing" instead of "replacing".

By the way, it's "Rien ne vas plus", but maybe you knew that.

  3. Thanks Bob, things like that happen when one isn't really proficient in a language. But then what...it's only FRENCH!

  4. Well, don't worry about it too much, since I just realized that I also made a grammar mistake! Je vais, tu vas, il va. Nous allons, vous allez, ils vont.
So I got it wrong too. It should be "Rien ne va plus". No "s".
Cripes. That's what I get for being a "know it all". Sometimes I need to keep my big mouth shut. Or, fingers off the keyboard as the case may be.
