We left the rest area around 8am and continued our journey east. After a short lunch break we approached Albuquerque, NM. The sprawling city seemed to be stretching endlessly throughout the valley. I-40 climbs across the Sandia Mts. and it's a looong uphill grade. But our rig didn't have any problem with the climb.

Once reaching the top, the road continues across hills towards Santa Rosa.
We had planned to stay overnight at the Santa Rosa State Park, but discovered an inviting rest area just a few miles before reaching Santa Rosa. And that's where we stay tonight.

Continued safe travels.

DeleteLast time we were on I-40 the pavement was terrible. Have they made upgrades?

Stay Safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
Some stretches of the I-40 are good, others are terrible.
DeleteGood to see that your rig can climb hilly areas and that even with the van in tow. Safe travels!
